9:30 AM – 10:00 AM: What Is New in Highway Capacity: 2010 Highway Capacity Manual — Tom Creasey, ENTRAN
The process for development and publication of the next edition of the Highway Capacity Manual began in 2007 and is currently planned for publication in 2010. Mr. Tom Creasey who serves on the TRB Highway Capacity and Quality of Service Committee will provide an overview of the significant additions and changes to the latest edition.

10:00 AM – 10:30 AM: Introduction to the Highway Safety Manual (HSM) — Eric Green, Kentucky Transportation Center
Mr. Eric Green will present the history and origin of the HSM, including the need for such a publication, and its organization and contents. Additionally, updates will be given as to the current status of the document’s publication and release.

10:30 AM – 10:45 AM: Break

10:45 AM – 11:15 AM: Introduction to the Proposed KYTC Roundabout Policy — Jeff Jasper, KYTC Director of Design;  Adam Kirk, Kentucky Transportation Center
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is preparing to release a new and comprehensive policy regarding the planning, design and construction of modern roundabouts. Mr. Jeff Jasper and Adam Kirk will provide an update on the status of the policy, and an overview of the requirements considered for inclusion.

11:15 AM – 11:30 AM: KYSITE Activities Update — Adam Kirk, President KYSITE; Scott Walker, SDITE 2012 LAC Chair
Upcoming section activities and programs will be presented in addition to a discussion of the 2012 Southern District ITE meeting which will be hosted by KYSITE. Opportunities for involvement and volunteer needs will also be discussed.
