The 2009 edition of the MUTCD will include significant changes that will affect all transportation professionals. The purpose of the web seminar is to provide an overview of the changes that have been proposed. KYSITE and the LFUCG Division of Traffic Engineering are teaming up once again to offer a free web seminar for you. For those of you working near the UK campus, the Kentucky Transportation Center is offering the same web seminar. Both are free of charge! Please note that refreshments will be provided at the LFUCG location.

Background: The Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), published by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), defines the standards used nationwide to install and maintain traffic control devices on all streets and highways. MUTCD sets minimum standards and provides guidance to ensure uniformity of traffic control devices across the nation. In order to keep current, MUTCD goes through a periodic update process. The Web briefing will provide an overview of the significant changes proposed for the 2009 edition of MUTCD.

Intended Audience: Users of MUTCD which include, but not limited to, state and local highway agencies, public officials, the insurance industry, law enforcement agencies, incident management personnel, maintenance personnel, academic institutions, private industry, planning, construction and engineering organizations, traffic engineers, transportation engineers and consultants
