Background: The Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), published by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), defines the standards used nationwide to install and maintain traffic control devices on all streets and highways. The Web briefing will provide an overview of the significant changes proposed for the 2009 edition of MUTCD.

Intended Audience: Users of MUTCD which include, but not limited to, state and local highway agencies, public officials, the insurance industry, law enforcement agencies, incident management personnel, maintenance personnel, academic institutions, private industry, planning, construction and engineering organizations, traffic engineers, transportation engineers and consultants
